Welcome to the Residential Resources page of Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Resource Guide. This resource is intended to guide you to available IRA resources and share how you can combine these resources with Xcel Energy or other incentives.
This IRA Resource Guide was developed to provide information on programs and funding opportunities available under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) as originally enacted in 2022. However, please be aware that in July 2025, President Trump signed a tax and spending bill into law that had several implications for the Inflation Reduction Act. The most significant changes are:
-
Federal tax credits for electric vehicles ended September 30, 2025.
-
EV charging infrastructure under the Alternative Fuel vehicle Refueling Property Tax Credit (30C)needs to be put into service by June 30, 2026.
-
Home solar tax credits, heat pumps, heat pump hot water heaters, weatherization, and insulation will expire December 31, 2025.
-
Utility-scale solar and wind facilities must either be placed in service by December 31, 2027 or beginning of construction must be established by July 4, 2026.
Getting Started
Rewiring America has released a helpful IRA Household Savings Calculator that provides a calculation of how much money you could be eligible for through the IRA based on your zip code and household income. Whether you are a renter or a homeowner, this is a great place to start since it shows all the different residential incentives available now or coming soon.
Once you’ve explored this calculator, view the types of projects listed below for ideas on how other funding sources would combine with the incentives identified through Rewiring America’s IRA calculator.
